Warbat are also referred to as “Shaabiyat” in certain regions of the Middle East are popular especially in the Levantine region. They are very similar to Baklava but are filled with a thick cream or custard, instead of nuts.

The dessert is made from a dough of semolina and cheese (usually Akawi or Nabulsi cheese), which is kneaded together until it becomes smooth and stretchy. This dough is then filled with a rich clotted cream (or Ashta) or sometimes sweetened cheese, giving it a creamy, indulgent interior.
After being rolled into delicate cylinders or logs, the dessert is drenched in a fragrant sugar syrup flavored with rose water or orange blossom water, which adds a fragrant floral note.

We take great pride in serving authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors that have been passed down through generations.

 

Our story began with a deep love for the vibrant food culture of Damascus, a city known for its centuries-old culinary heritage. Inspired by the region’s rich history and diverse influences, we sought to bring these authentic flavors to our local community. Thus, Damashkey was born.
From the mouthwatering options like tender Chicken and Beef Shawarma, perfectly seasoned Kebabs, crispy and golden Falafel, and creamy, homemade Hummus.  every dish on our menu is crafted with the finest ingredients and a passion for preserving authentic flavors.


Damashkey cuisine refers to the traditional food of Damascus, which is known for its rich culinary history and vibrant flavors. Damashkey cuisine is a reflection of the city's long-standing cultural and historical significance as a crossroads of various civilizations.
Damascene food combines Arabic, Turkish, Persian, and Mediterranean influences, offering a unique blend of spices, fresh ingredients, and slow-cooked techniques that result in unforgettable dishes.
